In my massage practice, whether a person is looking for relief from pain or from stress I try to remember that their pain and experience is unique to their own life experience. My job is to create and facilitate relief. I listen to the client, I listen to their body and I incorporate different modalities into a massage that fits their needs in the moment. I try to balance the deep and intense work with nurturing work so that nervous system, the muscular system and the whole body accepts and integrates the treatment. My hope is that a person feels renewed, refreshed and revitalized following a session.
In my own words:
When I was feeling scattered and stressed massage always helped me feel whole and balanced. My problems seemed more manageable rather than huge mountains. And certainly the relief I received from the tightness I carried in my neck, shoulders and back from all the computer work was an essential release.
